Puppy Linux
I'm a big fan of Puppy Linux - this is a distribution of Linux that has some really nice features:
- it's very small (c. 500Mb ISO) but fully featured with most applications you need
- it can co-exist happily with both Windows and other Linux'es on your hard disk
- it has many ways of being installed but I use what's called "frugal install" where you simply copy 3 files to a sub-directory on your hard disk
- it can run on old hardware with very little memory
- it boots up really fast (compared to Windows)
I maintain some of the Puppy Linux "flavours" which are built periodically on Github and then transferred to SourceForge.
Find out more from the Puppy Linux website
or visit the Puppy Linux Forum - which I try to contribute to where I can
