This is the web page for the Worcester (in Worcestershire, UK) Branch of the Campaign For Real Ale (CAMRA) beer festival which includes farmhouse cider and perry as well as real ale. The aim of the beer festival is to promote the appreciation and enjoyment of real ale, real cider and real perry to the citizens of Worcester and further afield. The beer festival is run entirely by volunteers from the Worcester Branch of CAMRA who are all real ale enthusiasts. The beer festival is held on the centre of Worcester Racecourse in marquees with excellent links to public transport. Types of real ale include mild, bitter, stout and porter. Real ale is made from liquor and malt and hops which produces wort which is then fermented with yeast. Real ale is a living product and secondary fermentation takes place in the barrel prior to serving. The beer is placed in its barrel onto a stillage for serving by gravity dispense. The real ale movement is allied to the organic and vegetarian movements.
